SF Parent Action runs parent leadership workshops to encourage more parents to become local education champions for our public schools, by serving in a variety of ways--from classroom volunteer all the way to Board of Education commissioner!

This workshop is intended for parent, teacher, and community leaders, who are ready to lead for SF's public school kids. The program prepares participants to be student-centered leaders in our schools, in our district, in our city! We can have stronger schools and stronger student outcomes when parents are involved.

After taking our workshop, parent leaders will walk away with:

• Public education systems knowledge: Sharing an overview of the public education landscape and how public school districts work in California and locally.

• Understanding of leadership opportunities at all levels: Exposure to experienced education leaders will share

• Time commitments and expectation setting: Conveying the realities and requirements of what it means to serve in a variety of leadership roles.
