Pathways to Parent Leadership Workshop
The Pathways to Parent Leadership workshop helps parents step into leadership across San Francisco’s public schools. Offered multiple times each year, it serves as a starting point for parents new to school or district-level involvement, building knowledge, confidence, and community.
Participants explore how SFUSD works, learn about real opportunities to lead, and hear directly from experienced education leaders, such as:
-
Jenny Lam, Former SF Board of Education President
-
Supryia Ray, SF Board of Education Commissioner
-
Lisa Weissman-Ward, SF Board of Education Commissioner
Each session combines systems knowledge, practical tools, and personal stories. Parents leave with:
-
A clearer sense of how decisions are made in SFUSD
-
Pathways to leadership at the school, district, and city levels
-
Realistic expectations about time, responsibility, and impact
Workshops are offered regularly to help parents build the skills and connections needed to advocate for students and lead in their communities. Stay tuned for upcoming dates and opportunities to participate.
