Official SF Parent Action members are generous donors and committed volunteers who help fuel and grow the movement.

You can become a member by making an annual donation or by doing important volunteer work. Joining gains you membership to our local network of parent activists.

Your donation funds the core team and tools that it takes to build a movement to fight for every public school kid in San Francisco. Any donation amount is welcome, and official memberships start at $52 per year (that's just $4 a month!)
SF Parent Action empowers public school parents in San Francisco to advocate for policy change and local candidates who support public school families and students. We organize parents and community partners to keep our elected leaders accountable to student-centered policies.

Membership FAQ
When you become a member of the SFParents network, you are endorsing our core values of centering the needs of the city’s children. You may choose to be a passive member, or you may choose to get involved in more or less intense action. SF Parents actively solicits your volunteer help but also respects your personal boundaries.
Leadership also reaches out to you on a regular basis to get your pulse on what’s happening with your school, and what needs to be improved. We invite you to take on increasing leadership and empower you with the skills, information and resources you need to succeed, throughout the process. We take your feedback seriously.
All donations of $52+ per year automatically make you a SF Parents Action member! If your membership is not active, make sure your donation reaches that threshold. We appreciate donations to our 501(c)(3) affiliate, SF Parents, but those donations do not count toward SF Parents Action membership.
If you have multiple email addresses, make sure you're checking the one you used when you signed up! Memberships are tied to email addresses, so it’s possible that you donated under a different email address.
If your membership has expired, simply start a new membership by donating on this page. You can prevent your membership from expiring by maintaining a monthly/annually recurring donation plan.
To change your donation level or cancel your recurring plan, log in to your donation portal. Please note: If you cancel recurring donations before reaching our $52/year threshold, your membership will be revoked.
Cost should never be a barrier to membership. We believe in aligning our actions with our mission and values — and that means making SF Parents accessible to everyone in our community, regardless of financial circumstances.

Membership is managed through our affiliated 501(c)(4) organization SF Parents Action. When you pay dues to SF Parents Action, your contribution supports advocacy, organizing, and policy work to improve student outcomes in San Francisco.
As part of this membership, you are also enrolled in SF Parents Coalition (SFPC), our affiliated 501(c)(3) organization, and will receive communications, updates, and opportunities to engage in educational programs and community initiatives.
SF Parents Action (501(c)(4)) and SF Parents Coalition (501(c)(3)) are affiliated but separate legal entities with distinct missions and permissible activities.
